When someone uses the phrase, "It just fell into my lap," it usually indicates some sort of good fortune.
Well, that wasn't the case for Peter Johnson.
Johnson, a freshman at Washington State, attended the Oakland Athletics game against the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday at Safeco Field. When A's third baseman Ryon Healy sent a two-run homer deep into the stands, the ball landed directly in Johnson's lap ... where his phone was sitting.
What resulted can only be described as terrible luck. Jokingly, Johnson tweeted out the image of his broken phone screen and asked if the A's would pick up the tab.
To his delight, they responded.
Don't worry, Peter. The A's are buying you a new phone. 👍 pic.twitter.com/X70DkqqVGb— #Voteland 5 x Daily (@Athletics) May 17, 2017
The lesson in all of this is either (a) it never hurts to ask for help, or (b) protect your phone at all times while attending A's games.
