This draft class is littered with quality pass-rushers, and a certain nearby prospect could be the safest play for San Francisco at No. 2.

There are several directions the 49ers could go in the upcoming draft. What position should they prioritize?
GM John Lynch and coach Kyle Shanahan want a long-term answer at QB, but signs point to the 49ers using the No. 2 overall pick on a different position.
Tu'ikolovatu's ability to dominate in the run game makes him an ideal selection considering San Francisco's 3-4 scheme and needs.

49ers CEO Jed York says on Twitter that former 49ers fullback Tom Rathman will be the 2017 inductee into the Edward J. DeBartolo Sr. 49ers Hall of Fame. "No one epitomizes being a 49er more than Tom Rathman," York wrote. "So happy for him to take his place in the 49ers HoF." Rathman also had two lengthy stints on the Niners coaching staff.
This isn't a strong draft when it comes to offensive linemen, and while this is among the 49ers' needs, they likely won't address it till later rounds.
With Kirk Cousins and Jimmy Garoppolo potentially hitting free agency next year, the Niners can find a QB for Kyle Shanahan to begin grooming, with an eye toward landing the long-term solution in 2018.

Between visits & workouts, Toledo RB Kareem Hunt met with Detroit, New England, San Francisco, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Tennessee, Carolina and the New York Jets. Hunt is a possible Day 2 pick at running back. Hunt had 262 carries for 1,475 yards and 10 touchdowns with 41 catches and 403 receiving yards last season.
The 49ers could still look to draft a linebacker early in the draft, even though they already have depth at the position.
Newly planned streets at the site where Candlestick Park once stood will honor several of the 49ers and Giants who once called the venerable San Francisco stadium home.
No. 1 WRs are known to flourish in head coach Kyle Shanahan's offense. WR John Ross looks like the ideal candidate to fill that role for the 49ers if they can trade down.
The 49ers opened this offseason with zero quarterbacks under contract, which isn't ideal.
Even though the 49ers have a lot of needs on their roster, a dynamic tight end that falls to the right spot may be too tempting to pass up.
The 49ers have drafted their share of elite players in their 71-year NFL history. Here are San Francisco's best picks at every position.
Nick Wagoner tells Dickerson & Hood which direction he thinks the 49ers will go with the second-overall pick.
RB Glen Coffee, who left the NFL in 2010 and served four years as an Army Ranger, is attempting a comeback after last playing in 2009.
SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- The 2017 NFL draft will begin on April 27 in Philadelphia. The San Francisco 49ers own 10 picks in this year's draft, including No.
Pierre Garcon spent the last five seasons as a Redskin and will return to "ol' D.C." as an opponent in mid-October.
The need for depth is obvious, so one way or another, it's a good bet the 49ers will walk away from this draft with at least one more safety in tow.
