New Eagles DE Michael Bennett already has his sights set on the NFC East quarterbacks. "I know Eli Manning is probably watching this, thinking, yes, I'm coming. I know Dak is watching this like, yeah, he's coming. Yeah, I am. And Alex Smith knows he can't run from me. I told him at the Pro Bowl."

At his charity basketball event, ex-Eagles wide receiver Torrey Smith said his former team is taking full of advantage of paying a quarterback on a rookie deal. "When Carson (Wentz's) time comes, they're going to need a Brinks truck the size of this arena," Smith said with a smile.

Eagles release DE Curry, save $5M on cap

DE Vinny Curry, who had 41 quarterback hurries and three sacks in 2017, is a free agent after being released by the Eagles in a cost-cutting move Friday.

Tim McManus ESPN Staff Writer

Eagles have released DE Vinny Curry, a source confirms, in a move that will offer $5 million in cap savings. They attempted to restructure his contract, which was set to pay him $11 million in '18, but couldn't get there. Addition of Michael Bennett made it less urgent to keep him. Curry should have a good market. Mike Garafolo was first with the report.

New Eagles DT Haloti Ngata won a Super Bowl with the Ravens during the 2012 season, and has been eager to get that feeling again. "The Super Bowl champs wanted me. To have another chance to go back and win again, it's exciting."

Tim McManus ESPN Staff Writer

DT Haloti Ngata is signing his one-year deal with the Eagles, according to his agent Mike McCartney.

The Eagles created $5.4 million in cap space by converting most of TE Zach Ertz's base salary into a fully guaranteed roster bonus, per ESPN's Field Yates. This is their second significant restructure in recent days, as they created an additional $7.5 million by reworking RT Lane Johnson's deal.

I'm told that Patrick Robinson's new deal with the Saints will be for four years, $20 million with $10 million guaranteed, $8 million in the first year with $2 million due on the third day of the league year in 2019 (for injury). The Eagles actually offered more money overall but the Saints offered more guaranteed.

He emerged as a key player on Jim Schwartz's defense, especially after Jordan Hicks was lost for the year with an Achilles injury. There was some question as to whether the Eagles could afford him, but they found a way to make it work.
