Overheard at Raiders Camp: Assistant head coach/Defense John Pagano, on first-round pick Gareon Conley, "We'd love to have him out there right now...until then, I think he got the reps he needed in OTAs. His mental game has picked up tremendously. He's always asking questions...he's getting those mental reps. When he's able to come back, he'll be at a fast level. Injuries are part of the game, you deal with it and you just have to make sure, as a rookie, you're taking those mental reps."

If it's special team's time, then it's time for Marshawn Lynch to take in drills with the defensive line. The running back is hanging with Mario Edwards, Jr. at the moment. Sorry, no pics as the photo window for practice has closed.

Overheard at Raiders camp: CB Sean Smith had a nice day, breaking up a couple of passes in the end zone, one a particularly physical encounter with Michael Crabtree. So coach Jack Del Rio was asked what he wanted to see from Smith, who has been relegated to second-team defense and had a tough game at Arizona. "I hope to see the same thing from him as I do all the rest of the guys," Del Rio said. "Everybody come out here, be real urgent, be purposeful in their work, come out here every day with a good, positive approach and go to work. That's what we're getting. I think the team is working hard, working well. We've got a lot of work to do yet."

Raiders Play of the Day: Avert ye eyes, 49ers fans, because this play involved Michael Crabtree, a fade pass to the right corner of the end zone from the 5-yard line and, yes, a completion for the touchdown. Derek Carr lofted a perfect toss to Crabtree's inside shoulder, just out of the reach of cornerback David Amerson, and Crabtree cradled the ball as both players went to the ground in a heap. As Crabtree emerged with the ball, the official signaled touchdown.

Raiders Rookie Report: First-round draft pick Gareon Conley, who has not practiced since the first day of minicamp in June, remained a spectator, after sending out images of his leg over the weekend and saying on social media he was healing. Second-round pick Obi Melifonwu, meanwhile, returned to practice, though he did light work. Third-rounder Eddie Vanderdoes and fifth-rounder Marquel Lee remained starters at defensive tackle and middle linebacker, respectively.

Raiders Injury Report: While DE Khalil Mack and WR Amari Cooper, both of whom missed all of practice and the team's exhibition opener last week, returned to practice, coach Jack Del Rio said OL Denver Kirkland (knee) and S Keith McGill (foot) will both be out the remainder of camp.

Marshawn Lynch, after asking a Raiders PR official if he could do his media day, decided against speaking today. He has yet to discuss publicly why he sat during the national anthem on Saturday.

Regarding Derek Carr's music commercial video: "It's a joke," Carr said. "It's all a joke."
