Jaguars without several starters as OTAs begin

The Jaguars were without several starters, including defensive backs Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Bouye, as well as offensive lineman Branden Albert as organized team activities began Tuesday in Jacksonville.

The Jaguars announce they will travel to New England for joint practices with the Patriots in advance of their preseason opener at Gillette Stadium. The teams will practice Aug. 7-8 and will play on Aug. 10 at 7:30 pm ET.

CB Jalen Ramsey, OT Branden Albert absent from Jaguars' first OTA. Jaguars' entire starting secondary not participating, either. In addition to Ramsey not being there, S Barry Church, S Tashaun Gipson, CB A.J. Bouye working off to the side with injuries.

It's a prove-it year for Blake Bortles in Jacksonville, and the organization, led by a new coach and VP of football operations, is looking for reasons to feel confident.

Linebacker Mike Morgan is scheduled to work out for the Jaguars tomorrow, per a league source. He could sign with Jacksonville if the visit goes well. Morgan was a core special teams player for the Seahawks from 2011 to 2016. The veteran started at SAM LB in the team's base defense last year.

RB Leonard Fournette has signed his rookie contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars, the team announced. The four-year deal is worth $27,150,882 and it includes a $17,886,096 signing bonus, according projections by overthecap.com. Only second-round pick OT Cam Robinson and third-round pick DE Dawuane Smoot are unsigned.

Another Jaguars draft pick has signed: fifth-round pick LB Blair Brown. His projected contract is worth $2.7 million over four years with a $294,715 signing bonus, according to Spotrac.com. The Jaguars now have more than half of their draft class under contract after fourth-round pick WR Dede Westbrook signed earlier Tuesday.

The Jaguars have signed fourth-round pick WR Dede Westbrook. Details of the contract were not released but the deal is projected to be worth $3.1 million over four years with a $676,156 signing bonus, according to Spotrac.com. Westbrook is the Jaguars' third draft pick to sign. Seventh-round picks CB Jalen Myrick and FB Marquez Williams have already signed.

The Jaguars announce they have signed DT Kelvin Maurice and S Jarrod Harper, both of whom were tryout players at the team's rookie minicamp. To make room on the roster, the Jaguars cut S Akeem Davis and DT Louis Nix.
