Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was fined $26,739 for lowering his helmet to initiate contact against Philadelphia defensive back Corey Graham in last week's win against the Eagles. Elliott is appealing. Elliott was the first offensive player to be flagged for that penalty this season. It's the second time in four weeks Elliott has been fined. He was fined $13,369 for unsportsmanlike conduct for donating $21 into the Salvation Army kettle after a touchdown against Washington.

Pro Bowl right guard Zack Martin will miss the first game of his career, having been ruled out of Sunday's game at Indianapolis because of a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee. He did not practice all week and it was a long shot to play anyway. He will be replaced by rookie Connor Williams, who opened the season as the Cowboys' left guard. Martin had played and started all 73 regular-season games in his career.

A judge in Georgia this week denied a motion by Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy to dismiss a lawsuit filed against him earlier this year by his ex-girlfriend, Delicia Cordon, seeking damages from a July home invasion. That means Cordon's lawsuit — which also alleges McCoy physically abused Cordon, his dog and his son — will move forward.

Before heading to Cincinnati, Raiders coach Jon Gruden said he had no comment on Amari Cooper telling a Dallas reporter that it was Raiders owner Mark Davis who traded him, and that Gruden and then-general manager Reggie McKenzie did not want to deal the Pro Bowl receiver to the Cowboys. “I've read a lot, I've heard a lot,” Gruden said. “I've heard some things in the media that are absolutely hilarious. Aren't even close. So I'm not commenting on any of that stuff. We've got to get ready for Dan Ross, Boobie Clark, we've got to watch out for Isaac Curtis down the middle. We've got to get Tim Brown and all our receivers ready to play.”

RB James Conner (ankle) and WR Ryan Switzer (ankle) are questionable for Sunday vs. Patriots. Conner did minimal practice work this week, so playing would be at least a mild surprise based on precedent, but you never know.

If LG Kelechi Osemele and RG Gabe Jackson are unable to play, Chaz Green and Denzelle Good will start in their respective places. "Good players," said Raiders coach Jon Gruden. "Had a good week of preparation."
