Giants offense didn't do much in opening quarter. Saquon Barkley's three carries went for 2, 0 and -10. A grand total of -8 yards rushing in first quarter.

Biggest need at this point for CG Technology sportsbooks is the NY Giants. CG Technology Vice President of Risk Jason Simbal says that he's expecting a big liability on the Philadelphia Eagles, too.

Rookies Saquon Barkley and Grant Haley arrive for Sunday's game against the Titans. Barkley is going for his fifth straight 100-yard rushing game and needs to average 153.5 total yards per game to beat Eric Dickerson's rookie record of yards from scrimmage.

Steady rain at MetLife Stadium now and expected throughout Titans vs. Giants. Some winds but nothing crazy. They're expected to be in the 10 to 15 mph range most of the afternoon, per weather.com. QBs should be able to throw the ball OK.

The Jets didn't have a good plan for WR DeAndre Hopkins. He was targeted four times (including the holding penalty) on Houston's game-winning drive — and it was single coverage every time. Why not give the corner some help? CB Trumaine Johnson wasn't assigned to Hopkins; the Jets decided to play "sides" with Johnson and Mo Claiborne. Why? "It's not just DeAndre, it's matchups all over the field," Todd Bowles said. "We were doing fine, left and right. Mo makes his share of plays as well and we have all the confidence in the world in him. DeAndre just made some plays." A lot of plays.

Jets weekly stock watch: DOWN — CB Mo Claiborne (game-changing penalty); K Jason Myers (human, after all), RB Eli McGuire (costly fumble), RB Trenton Cannon (costly drop), secondary (toasted by DeAndre Hopkins); UP — DE Henry Anderson (first three-sack game since Mo Wilkerson in 2015); QB Sam Darnold (efficient and creative), WR Robby Anderson (96 yards, 1 TD, 1 drop).

Jets defensive snaps: The Texans didn't play as much three-wide as other teams, forcing the Jets to play their base personnel more than usual. Darryl Roberts (toe) was replaced by Rontez Miles. Rookie Nathan Shepherd has been reduced to an afterthought in recent weeks.

Jets offensive snaps: This is what it's come to — second-, third- and fourth-stringers played key roles. Talking about Jonotthan Harrison, Eli McGuire, Brent Qvale, Trenton Cannon, Andre Roberts and Rishard Matthews.

Jason Myers became the first Jets kicker since John Hall in 1999 to miss multiple PATs in a game. Myers has now missed more PATs this season (three) than field goals (two). Get this: He's an 87-percent career kicker on PATs and 85 percent on field goals. Said Myers: "The first one I just pushed a little bit. The second one I thought I hit good, but it just kind of fell left on me."

The Jets gave CB Trumaine Johnson a five-year contract with $34 million in guarantees — and yet they didn't assign him to cover WR DeAndre Hopkins. What's up with that? They played left and right, and Hopkins (10 catches for 170 yards) did most of his damage against Mo Claiborne. Claiborne insisted he had "brilliant" coverage on Hopkins' game-winning TD. S Darryl Roberts also got beat for a TD. Johnson allowed two catches for 14 yards while covering Hopkins. Said Johnson: "Hopkins did a tremendous job. He has strong hands. You can be perfect in coverage and try to rip the ball out, but he has strong hands."

Darnold: 'Our whole offense is staring to click' (0:59)

Jets injury report: RT Brandon Shell will have an MRI Sunday on his injured left knee. He was in considerable pain and had to be carted off the field. It's a potentially major injury. S Darryl Roberts (toe) and WR Rishard Matthews (hamstring) also didn't finish the game.

Todd Bowles became the sixth coach since 2000 with three straight 10-loss seasons. The others: John Fox, Gus Bradley, Chan Gailey, Dennis Green and Dave Campo. Said Bowles: "Nobody likes to lose. Not me, not anybody. Not anybody." This was the third time the Jets blew a fourth-quarter lead. They don't know how to make winning plays on a consistent basis, and that ultimately will doom Bowles.

Rich Cimini ESPN Staff Writer

Jets CB Mo Claiborne took issue with the third-down holding penalty that set up the Texans' game-winning TD: "This is how I feed my family and when you make calls like that, you mess that up for me."
