Here are our top three storylines for the 2017-18 Utah Jazz, along with an invitation for you to weigh in on how each will play out.

The Jazz have waived forward Joel Bolomboy, drafted No. 52 overall in 2016. Bolomboy played in 12 games with Utah.
The departed Gordon Hayward will certainly be missed on the offensive side, but Utah should still boast a stout defense with Rudy Gobert in the middle.

Utah has announced that they have waived Joel Bolomboy. The $1.3M contract for Bolomboy was guaranteed this season. The $1.5M salary in 2018-19 was non-guaranteed.
As expected, Utah Jazz guard Rodney Hood will likely not sign a rookie-scale extension, which means he'll be a restricted free agent in 2018.
Jazz guard Dante Exum has been exploring multiple medical opinions for his shoulder injury, hoping to avoid season-ending surgery, sources told ESPN.
Jazz cut Torian Graham
The Jazz waived G Torian Graham on Thursday just three days after signing him, the team announced. The former Arizona State Sun Devil played with the Mavericks at the Las Vegas Summer League. Utah's roster now stands at 19.
Hood has the opportunity to become Utah's go-to scorer with the departure of Gordon Hayward. Meanwhile, Dante Exum's extension prospects don't look good with his recent shoulder injury.

Tremendous game from Donovan Mitchell. First time ever in Staples center and the rookie went for 26 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assist in 33 minutes. Had a lot of success playing on the ball. PG skills evolving. Plays with supreme confidence.
Defense won't be an issue for the Jazz, but an offense that played at the league's slowest pace last season loses its two leading scorers.
The Jazz will have a tricky decision to make with Dante Exum next summer (can be restricted free agent) if he misses the entire season with a separated left shoulder. Can they count on him as part of their future?
Boy, does it suck to be in the West. There are at least seven teams competing for the last four playoff spots, and they are all solid. Good luck picking which four make it.
Thabo Sefolosha's first summer in Utah turned out to be quite memorable. The newly signed Jazz forward revealed that he rescued a woman from the Provo River during a family rafting trip last month.

Utah would be eligible to apply for the Disabled Player Exception if Dante Exum is ruled out for the season. The exception would be worth $2.5M and the Jazz would need to clear a roster spot to use. Utah would only be allowed to sign, acquire in a trade or claim a player on the last year of their contract.
Jazz guard Dante Exum, who averaged 6.2 points last season, suffered a separated left shoulder and ligament damage and could miss the season, sources told ESPN.

The Dante Exum injury now has the Jazz faced with a tough roster decision. Currently with 15 guaranteed contracts, backup PG Raul Neto is the odd man out. Utah would need to waive or trade a guaranteed contract to clear a spot for Neto. The Jazz could also rely on combo guard rookie Donovan Mitchell if they are reluctant to clear a roster spot.
Jazz point guard Dante Exum was taken to a hospital after Friday's preseason game against the Suns for MRI tests on his injured left shoulder.
