Simmons leading the pack in ROY odds

Ben Simmons, the No. 1 pick in the 2016 draft, missed all of last season due to a foot injury. That qualifies him to be considered a rookie in 2017-18. The Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook gives the Sixers foward the best chance to win the Rookie of the Year award this season.

Summer Forecast: West standings for 2017-18

Our panel sees the Mavericks staying in place this season, but the addition of Dennis Smith Jr. will at least make things more exciting in Dallas.

Bobby Marks ESPN

Six weeks (October 1) until the qualifying offer (QO) for restricted free agents expire (unless extended). There are still five players that can sign the QO; Nerlens Noel ($4.2M), Mason Plumlee ($4.6M), Nikola Mirotic ($7.3M), Alex Len ($4.2M) and JaMychal Green ($2.8M). A player will see still be a RFA past October 1 but with no qualifying offer on the table. A player signing the QO would have veto power to any trade.
