Jaren Jackson Jr. joined Shaquille O'Neal and draft prospects Mikal Bridges and Marvin Begley III to host a day of mentorship for teens in Brooklyn with The Y and provide apparel from JC Penny. "It's great, it's really special because that's exactly what I would want if I was in high school," Jackson Jr. said of speaking to the teens. ".... We're still growing just like them, we're learning new things just like them. Instead of us being some executive or something like that, we can relate to them." Jackson Jr. has worked out for the Hawks and Suns and is expected to be selected within the top five picks on Thursday.

Anfernee Simons, named by his parents after Penny Hardaway, worked out for the Lakers today and is eager to show teams that he is NBA-ready despite skipping one year of college for the IMG Prep Academy. The 6-4 guard averaged 22.4 points, 6.7 rebounds and shot 45% from 3 for the post-grad team and he turns 19 on June 8. Simons — who has worked out for Chicago, Phoenix and Portland and has visits scheduled with Utah, Orlando, the Knicks, Philadelphia and Milwaukee — said he made an impression on Lakers president Magic Johnson and GM Rob Pelinka. "They said you played really well and they were impressed by me coming in being so young and playing like I'm older than everybody else," Simons said.

Josh Jackson beamed as he stood on the Lottery stage after the show was finished. After watching Devin Booker represent the Suns at the event before, Jackson was happy to get the last laugh on his teammate this time. "Hopefully he's really happy," Jackson said of Booker. "I came out and did what he couldn't do, which doesn't happen too often. So I feel pretty good."

Wild night here in Chicago with Sacramento jumping to #2 and Phoenix landing the 1st overall pick. Who Sacramento takes 2nd overall could play a big role in shaping the rest of the top-5. If Phoenix does opt for Ayton at #1, I think Doncic could fit with speedy point guard De'Aaron Fox. He's at his best as a playmaker but can also play off the ball and needs an explosive shot creator next to him. Will be interesting to see how this next month plays out.
