Emmanuel Mudiay (32 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds) has two 30-point games this season. He had two career 30-point games entering the season. He's averaging 20 points, 5.8 assists and 3.6 rebounds in the last 9 games. Prior to this season, the 22-year-old had struggled in Denver after being drafted No. 7 overall. David Fizdale believes Mudiay's recent run has proven that he is, at least, an NBA rotation player. "Now how far it goes from there, it's going to be what he does. But you get in a third of the season and a guy is consistently putting in 20, 30, 20, 30, six rebounds, six assists constantly doing that (it's not a fluke). I think the first thing he had to prove to himself and to everyone was is he a legitimate NBA basketball player and I think that's proven right now so now the next step is can we get him to really grow and develop and show the consistency of what a lead guard can do? But he's really, he's taken off and really gotten better every day."

David Fizdale was asked, as a competitor, if the Suns' 41-point third quarter in Monday's loss was frustrating to him: "Yeah, it is. It is. It's tough. I'm the one that's sitting up there trying to stop the bleeding with timeouts and things like that. But you know, I've got to keep it in mind. This is our painful path to growth. For me I just have to look at it from the perspective, how do I make us better and not get too caught up emotionally in what's going wrong. How do I fix it."

Kevin Durant on passing Larry Bird on the league's all-time scoring list: "Somebody texted me after the game and showed me a screenshot. I was giddy like a little kid. I grew up watching Larry Bird. Well, not really, he's older. You grew up knowing Larry Legend and so to be amongst the greats, that's all you really want to do. It's a great accomplishment, but I want to keep going."

Klay Thompson on watching Steph Curry cross the 15,000 point threshold for his career. "It's amazing," Thompson said after the Warriors 110-93 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. "I know he's going to do it again. He's got 15,000 more in him. Probably more to be honest. He works so hard, he's such a great leader, he just exudes so much confidence and joy about him that you'd root for guys like Steph. I've been with him eight years and I couldn't ask for a better point guard."

With 23 points on Monday night — Warriors superstar Kevin Durant passed Larry Bird on the NBA's all-time scoring list and now sits in 33rd place. At just 30 years old — Durant is going to pass a lot more Hall of Famers over the next few years as he continues climbing up the list.

Phoenix now ranks no. 1 in salaries ($33.5M) that count against the cap and are not on the roster (dead money). The Suns will be responsible for roughly $8M of what is owed to Austin Rivers once he clears waivers. Rivers will have a $12.65M cap hit.

Paul George on if he's noticed a different Russell Westbrook this season: "Guy's still [averaging] a triple-double. If anything, I see a big jump defensively in him." Westbrook leads the league in steals per game, and has racked up 11 in the last two games alone.
