Welterweight fight between Robbie Lawler, Donald Cerrone added to UFC 213

A welterweight fight between former champion Robbie Lawler (27-11) and Donald Cerrone (32-8) has been added to UFC 213 on July 8 in Las Vegas.

UFC president Dana White informed ESPN.com of the 170-pound matchup on Monday. The UFC 213 pay-per-view event will take place inside T-Mobile Arena.

The bout was scheduled to take place at UFC 205 in November in New York, but Lawler was ultimately forced to withdraw. Lawler has not fought since, while Cerrone has gone 1-1 in two appearances.

Lawler (27-11) hasn't fought since he surrendered the UFC title to Tyron Woodley in a first-round knockout loss at UFC 201. It was Lawler's first defeat since 2014 and just the second time he had been knocked out in his career.

Fighting out of southern Florida, Lawler recently left American Top Team and has been working with striking coach Henri Hooft out of Combat Club MMA.

Cerrone (32-8) is coming off a knockout loss to Jorge Masvidal in January. The loss snapped a four-fight win streak for Cerrone and was his first loss since he moved up to welterweight from the lightweight division in 2016.

The UFC has not yet named a main event for UFC 213.
