A mini reunion broke out at Yankee Stadium just now as a few Yankees said hello to Starlin Castro, and some Marlins greeted Giancarlo Stanton.

The tarp is getting put up. The sun is sort of out. Greg Bird is out (playing catch in right). The scene from Yankee Stadium four hours before the Yankees host the Marlins.

With inclement weather in Detroit this weekend, the Yankees and Tigers have postponed both games of Sunday's scheduled doubleheader. They'll play at 1:10 p.m. and 7:10 p.m. ET on June 4. The teams only got one game in this series, a Yankees win Friday. More rain is on the forecast in the Bronx when the Yankees host the Marlins on Monday.

Mets rally past Marlins for 8th straight win

Marlins lefty Jarlin Garcia was pulled after pitching six hitless innings in his first major league start, and the New York Mets took advantage of a strong season debut by Zack Wheeler to beat Miami 4-1 Wednesday night for their eighth straight victory.

This is why you need bench players: the Mets were no-hit for six innings, but now lead the Marlins 2-1 after Michael Conforto and Adrian Gonzalez come off the bench to deliver hits in the eighth inning. The Mets have one of the deeper rosters in the league and Mickey Calloway utilized it to perfect results.

The Marlins' Jarlin Garcia is no-hitting the Mets through six innings ... in his first career start after appearing in relief in his first 70 major league appearances. He's a sinker/slider/changeup lefty, good size, throws 91-92 and looks to get groundballs. He's at 77 pitches. Stranger things have happened.

Mets beat Marlins 8-6 for 7th straight win

Yoenis Cespedes snapped a slump with a two-run double to break a tie in the ninth inning Tuesday night, giving the New York Mets the best 10-game start in franchise history when they beat Miami 8-6.

David Schoenfield ESPN Senior Writer

The Mets take advantage of some shaky defense from Marlins third baseman Brian Anderson to take the lead in the ninth. Anderson made a throwing error and then played a Yoenis Cespedes grounder into a two-run double. The Mets lead 8-6 as they look to go 9-1.

David Schoenfield ESPN Senior Writer

The Mets have nine relievers on the roster but didn't bring in a lefty to face Justin Bour in a tie game in the seventh with a runner on. I mean ... what's the point of nine relievers if you don't match up against the most dangerous hitter in the lineup?
