It's a good thing the Rockies are on the road against the Diamondbacks this weekend, because conditions at Coors Field are not ideal for baseball. According to the Denver Post, the area is expected to get up to 12 inches of snow by Saturday afternoon. (@Rockies/Twitter)

Harper puts cherry on top with 3-run homer (0:26)

David Schoenfield ESPN Senior Writer

Imagine if Bryce Harper got to play all his home games at Coors Field. He homered -- minus batting gloves -- as part of an 11-run seventh inning and has gone 7-for-13 with three walks in the series. The Nats lost the series opener when Harper didn't start, but have now scored 42 runs the past three days. With two innings still to go in this one.

Rockies 3B Nolan Arenado's 420-foot home run to left in the first inning of Thursday's game against the Nats was his 30th homer of such distance in the last three seasons, the third-most in MLB.

ESPN Stats and Information

Although the Mariners and Rockies lost on Tuesday, four of the six longest home runs were hit by their players.

ESPN Stats and Information

On Tuesday, Nationals SS Trea Turner became the eighth player in MLB history to drive in seven or more runs in a game while hitting for the cycle. Since 1995, players have hit for the cycle at Coors Field -- the site of Turner's feat -- more than twice as often as they have at any other ballpark.

The Rockies snapped the Nationals' seven-game win streak and now own the best record in the NL. Charlie Blackmon hit the go-ahead homer and Mark Reynolds continues to rake as well. The man who once fanned 223 times in a season, has focused on more contact -- his K rate is down 15 percent from a few years ago -- and it's working with a .329 average and his sixth HR on Monday.
