Tim Anderson's $25.5 million extension is unusual for a player with less than a year of service time, but it's a low-risk deal for the White Sox given the relative minimal outlay. I don't see Anderson becoming a star due to his poor plate discipline (117 SO/13 BB), but he looked good in the field and flashed some pop.

Make-or-break season ahead for Avisail Garcia

Garcia's career in a nutshell has been not enough power, not enough walks and not enough defense. Nobody is calling him "Mini Miggy" any longer.

Don't worry about Yoan Moncada's spring struggles

Moncada has struck out 12 times in 29 at-bats this spring, as secondary pitches continue to give him issues. Don't fret, White Sox fans: He's still just 21 years old and will figure it out.

ESPN Stats and Information

José Quintana allowed 1 run in 5 2/3 IP, got no-decision for Colombia. Over last 4 MLB seasons, he has 46 no-decisions when pitching at least 5 innings, most in MLB in that span.

David Schoenfield ESPN Senior Writer

If you want to know why the Yankees or Astros want Jose Quintana, you're seeing why tonight as he's dominated the U.S. through five no-hit innings. His trade value may have gone up a bit as well.

Notice anything different about Tim Anderson?

Patience has never been a part of Anderson's game, but the White Sox have pushed the 23-year-old to focus more on his mental approach this year.

Tristan H. Cockcroft ESPN Senior Writer

Though Tyler Saladino seems to be the one who most immediately benefits following Brett Lawrie's release, Yoan Moncada's odds of a majority of 2017 as the White Sox's starting second baseman indeed improve. Rankings-wise, though, not much changes for me, as I had Moncada projected for 450 PAs and a top-30 valuation at second (though he's only 3B-eligible for now). This merely makes me feel more confident in his meeting his PA projection.

Jose Abreu to jury: I ate part of fake passport

White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu told a federal jury he ate a chunk of a fake passport while flying to the U.S. to cover up his illegal travel as part of a Cuban ballplayer smuggling operation.

Stros make most sense for Jose Quintana

One more premium starter should put the Astros over the top, and Quintana would be a perfect fit. Two top prospects should be enough to make this trade happen. Bowden: Trades I'd like to see (Insider)
