The deadline for early entrants to declare for the NBA draft has passed, so it's time to re-evaluate the early top 25 for 2018-19. With so many players testing the waters yet not signing with an agent, it's more art than science.
Syracuse guard/forward Tyus Battle has declared for the NBA draft without hiring an agent, the school announced Friday.
Villanova reigns as national champion. How does the field stack up for next season? Here's your first look at the best of the best for next season.
Headlined by the 1972 UCLA Bruins, 80 teams have cut down the nets at an NCAA tournament. Villanova became the latest, winning its second title in three years. Where does this triumph rank all time?

No. 2 seed Duke survives a nail-biter over Syracuse, 69-65, in the second Midwest Region semifinal, earning a date with top seed Kansas on Sunday in Omaha for a spot in the Final Four. Freshman Marvin Bagley III scored 22 and grabbed 12 boards for the Blue Devils. The Elite Eight matchup will mark the first game between KU and Duke since 2013 and a rematch of the 1991 championship game, won by Mike Krzyzewski's Hurley-Hill-Laettner group.

It's almost like Syracuse and Duke know each other well. Aside from the zone-defense, like-mindedness of the Jim Boeheim and Mike Krzyzewski systems this year, the ACC rivals played less than a month ago ahead of this Sweet 16 matchup in Omaha -- which the Blue Devils lead 34-27 at the half. Both teams have attacked the other's zone, getting inside regularly to result in high-percentage shots. As expected, though, points remain at a premium after the Devils' 60-44 win in the previous meeting.
No. 1 seeds Kansas and Villanova try to advance to the Elite Eight against No. 5 seeds in their Sweet 16 matchups Friday night.

Villanova won the NCAA tournament as an 8 seed in 1985, the lowest seed to win it all. Between Florida State, Kansas State, Loyola, and Syracuse there is now a 7 percent chance of a 9 or 11 seed winning it all this year (per espn.com/bpi).
The big names come out to play -- Villanova, Duke, Kansas -- with a spot in the Elite Eight on the line. Will the top seeds advance, or will lower seeds again bust brackets?
What happened in the first two rounds? It was crazy, but we're moving on because the Sweet 16 has arrived. The blue bloods are here, but so are the wild cards, including two(!) 11-seeds. Enjoy the games, but here's what's going to happen this weekend.
The seed was planted when Mike Krzyzewski took Jim Boeheim's advice and went to a 2-3 zone during a Team USA exhibition in 2010. Coach K turned to the zone again this season to save his defense and get the Blue Devils to the Sweet 16.
OK, let's get a few things straight: A revolution is not happening in college basketball. Nor is what is happening in this NCAA tournament unprecedented. We've had crazier tournaments. What isn't crazy is The Bilastrator's order of the 16 remaining teams.
So your bracket is busted, your original champion is already out of the tournament and you need someone new to follow. We've done the research for you already. All you have to do now is pick the team that best fits your style.
Syracuse head coach talks about the win over Michigan State, coaching against Virginia's Tony Bennett, the Orange's upcoming matchup against Duke and more.
Let's try this again. It's not exactly the 16 teams we expected, but it's time to take a good look and put them in the proper order. The top teams aren't that shocking, but then the surprises start.
Welcome to the Sweet 16, Sister Jean. Loyola-Chicago's Cinderella story is just one delightful development in this year's field. Half the 1-seeds are gone, and there's no telling who has the upper hand to reach the Final Four.
