Brown leads the way in receiving
Ole Miss sophomore A.J. Brown is atop the nation through two weeks with 389 receiving yards, just 23 yards short of his entire 2016 total. Hawai'i's John Ursua and Marshall's Tyre Brady made the top five mostly on the strength of one outing, as Ursua put up 272 yards on Aug. 26, and Brady tallied 248 on Saturday.
Small-school QBs stand out nationally
Colorado State's Nick Stevens leads the nation through two weeks with nearly 1,000 passing yards, while UMass' Andrew Ford and New Mexico State's Tyler Rogers also rank in the top five. Shea Patterson sits second after breaking a school record Sunday, and top NFL prospect Josh Rosen ranks fourth.
Nick Stevens, who threw for over 300 yards in each of his first two games to start the season, continued his aerial assault, throwing for 337 yards and three touchdowns as Colorado State rolled past Abilene Christian 38-10 on Saturday.
