Magic number to keep Kevin Sumlin off hot seat

Texas A&M has had strong starts the past three seasons, but failed to win more than two games in November each year. A strong finish would spark optimism for Sumlin's future.

How does Garrett compare to Clowney? (1:30)
Stats & Info

Garrett holds up well with top DEs

Compared to Jadeveon Clowney and Mario Williams -- the last two defensive ends taken No. 1 overall in the draft -- Texas A&M's Myles Garrett had a better vertical jump and settled in the middle in three other key combine areas.

ESPN Stats & Info

Garrett has rare speed

Myles Garrett's NFL combine 40-yard dash time of 4.64 has only been surpassed by four other DTs with his size in the last eleven years. Whoever picks him will get a player with explosive athletic ability.

ESPN Stats and Information

Myles Garrett had a vertical jump of 41 inches at the 2017 Combine, joining Mario Williams as the only 270-pound players to have a vertical jump of at least 40 inches at the Combine since 2006. Williams went 1st overall in the 2006 NFL Draft.

The testing numbers for Texas A&M DE Myles Garrett are off the charts. 4.64 40-yard dash. 41" vertical jump. 10'8" broad jump. Rare athletic ability given his size (6-foot-4, 272 pounds).

Matt Bowen ESPN Staff Writer

Unofficial 40-yard dash time of 4.64 seconds for DE Myles Garrett (6-foot-4, 272 pounds). That's moving for an edge rusher. Plus, look at the 10-yard split -- 1.63 seconds. That's where we see the acceleration off the ball. If Garrett goes No.1 overall to the Cleveland Browns, he is going to be a great fit for Gregg Williams' defensive scheme. Speed, athleticism and production.

ESPN Stats and Information

Texas A&M WR Speedy Noil posted a 43.5 inch vertical leap Saturday at the combine, tied for 2nd-best by a WR at the combine since 2006 (Chris Conley - 45.0 inch in 2015).

Garrett measures up to former No. 1 pick

Texas A&M DE Myles Garrett's combine measurements look awfully similar to former South Carolina star Jadeveon Clowney before the 2014 draft.
