Center Kyle Fuller said the Texans have talked to him about playing center and guard, so he's been training to play both during the pre-draft process.

The Texans already have two good centers in Nick Martin (2016 second-round pick) and Greg Mancz, so I'm not sure where Kyle Fuller fits in on the roster.

Former Baylor basketball star Ish Wainright scored a touchdown in his first spring game with the team today. Freshman QB Charlie Brewer got Wainwright 1-on-1 outside and lobbed it up for the 23-yard score. "Obviously he's got great hands," coach Matt Rhule said. "I don't know how many plays he played, but he was productive."

Baylor's running back room took some hits this spring. Terence Williams sat out of today's spring game, Ja'Mycal Hasty got hurt early in the spring game and freshman Abram Smith suffered a torn ACL in practice. So former walk-on Wyatt Schrepfer and walk-on Obim Okeke had to play out the full scrimmage today. "If we were in a game, normally I might have played (Hasty) right away," coach Matt Rhule said. "But really proud of those two guys for playing the whole game."

Baylor coach Matt Rhule was asked Saturday about how his players have bought in this spring. He brought up the similar situation this spring at one of their rivals. "One cool thing is, like, Texas. Longhorn Network did a behind Texas football. I showed our kids, 'Watch Texas.' I love Tom Herman and here's Texas," Rhule said. "Great team. And you know what? They're doing Oklahoma drill and goal-line tackling drill. The coaches yell at them every once in a while in practice."

Baylor coach Matt Rhule says quarterbacks Zach Smith and Anu Solomon are slightly ahead of Charlie Brewer exiting spring ball. Not naming a starter today. "We've got 3 good quarterbacks, that's what I know," Rhule said.

Extra sprinting in order at the end of Baylor's spring game. The offense won the day 65-39 in the Bears' scoring system.

ESPN Stats and Information

Matt Rhule enters his first spring game as Baylor's head coach. The Bears' offense dipped last season with Jim Grobe serving as interim coach following Art Briles' firing.

Former Baylor basketball star Ish Wainwright scores a touchdown in his first spring game with the team. Freshman QB Charlie Brewer got Wainwright 1-on-1 outside and lobbed it up for the 23-yard score. Terrific grab. Matt Rhule said Wainwright wouldn't play today, since he's only practiced for a week, but there you go. He could be a fun weapon when he really learns the position.

The Baylor spring game scoring system is rather extensive.

Baylor coach Matt Rhule and AD Mack Rhoades are handing out spring awards at halftime of today's spring game. Left tackle Mo Porter and defensive end Brian Nance were named the team's most improved players this spring. Running back Obim Okeke was honored as the program's most outstanding walk-on

Baylor honored 20 of its incoming freshmen on the field at halftime of its spring game, including ESPN 300 signees Xavier Newman and Trestan Ebner. These guys need to come in ready to play, because the Bears need all the extra depth they can get.

Matt Rhule had some fun with his first Baylor spring game Saturday, challenging his linemen to attempt punt returns. Offensive tackles Mo Porter and Patrick Lawrence both tried and failed to haul in the catch, so Rhule upped the stakes: 5 extra points for catching a punt. Defensive tackle Bravvion Roy delivered for his defense by taking the field and making the catch. Rhule admitted at halftime he didn't tell the linemen they were returning punts today, so they had zero time to practice.

First TD of the day at Baylor spring game comes from true freshman QB Charlie Brewer, hitting walk-on WR Marques Jones for a 37-yard TD. Brewer was the most accurate high school QB in the nation last season and a state champ at Lake Travis High School.

No Baylor players are wearing single-digit jersey numbers this spring. Apparently those need to be earned this offseason under new coach Matt Rhule.

Former Baylor basketball star Ish Wainwright made his football debut today at tight end in the Bears' spring game. Wainwright joined the team a week ago and is wearing a No. 24 jersey with no name on the back. He looks good in pads.
