There's no such thing as bad publicity, huh? College football has proven that wrong again over the past week — the latest example involving Iowa, which is getting absolutely dragged through the mud by those making the CFP case against Ohio State. It is ugly out there, Hawkeyes. You may want to shield your eyes today.

Wadley, Fant help Iowa dominate Nebraska in 56-14 win

Akrum Wadley ran for 159 yards and three touchdowns and Iowa scored 28 points in less than a 7-minute span over the halves on its way to a 56-14 win over Nebraska on Friday in what could have been coach Mike Riley's last game with the Cornhuskers.

A 28-point third quarter (and still going) gives Iowa a 42-14 lead in Lincoln. A few thousand Nebraska fans are leaving Memorial Stadium, but others appear intent to stand their ground in the face of repeated embarrassment and usher this brutal season to an end in person. Yes, it's ugly enough that Bill Moos may just want to pull the plug tonight.

Fant takes off for 68-yard score (0:38)
Iowa's Wadley scores again (0:27)

Fantastic start to the second half for Iowa, which scored twice in seven plays and forced a Nebraska punt. The Hawkeyes have doubled up, 28-14, on the Huskers, who may not have anything left in the tank after this quick third-quarter strike in the season finale.

Fant hauls in Iowa TD (0:46)
Lee hits Morgan for Nebraska TD (0:24)

Iowa's answer to a 1-yard kickoff return, naturally, was a 99-yard drive. Akrum Wadley capped the 15-play march with a 20-yard scoring run. That's the Hawkeyes' fourth touchdown drive of 90 yards or more this season. Tied 7-7 with Nebraska.

Morgan hauls in nice TD grab (0:32)

Most of the drama in Lincoln on this Black Friday is on tap for after the game — and involves the next step for Nebraska with third-year coach Mike Riley. Nebraska has lost three straight, and Iowa has dropped two in a row since its Nov. 4 defeat of Ohio State. The Huskers are out of bowl contention. The Hawkeyes are set for a second-tier postseason destination.
