First 2018 class rankings: Minnesota

The Golden Gophers will make headlines under head coach P.J. Fleck. Georgia has already been targeted by the new staff, and the returns have netted OT Oyenmwen Uzebu and WR Terell Smith, among others.

Minnesota has received an immediate recruiting boost under new coach P.J. Fleck, now with the No. 16 ranked recruiting class for 2018. That is the highest ranking for Minnesota at this stage in the process since ESPN started its rankings in 2006. Fleck and his staff have been relentless on the recruiting trail and have infused the same kind of energy that they did at Western Michigan. If the staff can turn things around on the field, this could be the start of a lot of positive momentum at Minnesota.

Big Ten speed shines at NFL combine

Once considered a home for slow, plodding players, who knew that the Big Ten would stake a claim as the nation's fastest conference at the NFL combine?

Austin Ward ESPN Staff Writer

Minnesota is about to hit the practice field for the first time under P.J. Fleck. How different will the offense look for the Gophers this season? "I mean, until we get down by the goal line, we really won't be under center at all," QB Conor Rhoda said. "But other than that, the basics are going to be very similar. The verbiage we use is a lot different and stuff like that, but really I don't think there's a huge difference in what we're trying to accomplish."
