Welcome to Week 10 of the 2017 Eliminator Challenge. To determine the best picks each week, I lean heavily upon ESPN's Football Power Index (FPI). For more on how FPI is calculated, click here and here. I also look at the pick percentages for each team on the ESPN Eliminator Challenge page to see which teams the majority of fans are picking.
Last week saw four of the eight most-selected teams lose, including the Buffalo Bills, which were chosen by 14 percent of the remaining entrants. Another one of those eight teams, the New York Giants, was actually the underdog in Las Vegas, proving once again why choosing a Vegas underdog before completely necessary is a poor decision. This week, 11 percent of people have taken the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to defeat the New York Jets, despite the Bucs being an underdog with a backup quarterback. Those 11 percent of players should really look elsewhere.
