How to bet the Terence Crawford-Felix Diaz fight

Ed Mulholland/Top Rank

This Saturday night, live from Madison Square Garden, is the 140-pound title fight between boxing's WBC, WBO and Ring Magazine Junior Lightweight champion of the world Terence 'Bud' Crawford (30-0, 21 KOs) and 2008 Olympic gold medalist Felix Diaz (19-1, 9 KOs). This fight comes after Canelo-Chavez Jr. failed to live up to the hype and should treat fans to an action-packed bout.

Let's look at where the money is going, along with opinions from boxing experts, trainers and my pick for this terrific matchup.

Jeff Sherman, sportsbook manager at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook, opened the fight with Crawford -2000 and Diaz +1000. Sherman got immediate support for the favorite, driving the price to -2500/+1100. Since then, Sherman has seen small plays on the underdog. He will post an over/under prop bet on the day of the fight, but doesn't expect much action on the fight unless it's underdog money at this point.
